The Mission, Goals And Vision Of The Accounting Department:

 

  The Accounting Department looks forward, with great future optimism, to the student graduating from the department with an effective quality that carries in its essence an integrated amount of science and knowledge, and in a manner that enhances the role of the scientific department and its capabilities in providing society in general and the labor market in particular with a distinguished quality of the new accounting generation. Therefore, there are a number of changes that are expected to lead to a further improvement in the quality of the graduate, which the department hopes to achieve under the appropriate conditions and the required requirements.

 

Establishment Of The Accounting Department

The Accounting Department is one of the three scientific departments that make up the College of Administration and Economics – University of Al-Muthanna. The study began in the department from the 2009/2010 academic year. The department accepts graduates of the preparatory school in its literary, scientific and commercial branches, according to ministerial instructions. The study in it is over four university years, during which the student is prepared and rehabilitated theoretically and practically by teaching a group of study subjects within theoretical lectures and others dealing with applied aspects. The bulk of these subjects are specialized in the field of accounting, and the remaining part includes various other disciplines, some of which are closely related to accounting, and some of which are necessary to rehabilitate the student well to help him face the needs of the job after graduation. The department is witnessing a remarkable development in the educational process and supplying the labor market with qualitative outputs specialized in the field of accounting.

 

 

 

 

Second: The Message Of The Accounting Department

The educational programs of the department qualifies those enrolled to work in institutions, establishments, government departments and private sector establishments by keeping pace with recent scientific developments in the fields of sustainable development, investment and health, and a combination of theoretical teaching and practical application to advance levels of institutional performance in the industrial, commercial and service sectors in the governorate in particular and in the Iraqi economy generally.

 

 

Third: Objectives Of The Accounting Department

The Objectives Of The Accounting Department Are As Follows:

 

  1. Preparing accounting cadres who are academically and professionally prepared to occupy accounting jobs – and they include all jobs related to accounting branches – in various fields of work: governmental, public, mixed and private.

 

  1. Instilling the concept of professional ethics and the ethical implications that the accountant must have when practicing his profession and motivating students and directing them to work towards developing the accounting profession after their graduation.

 

  1. Organizing and supervising the practical applications of the department’s students in different work sites (with a focus on industrial companies) or in alternative locations in exceptional circumstances, in an effort to link the theoretical aspect that is taught to them in the department with the applied aspects in practice so that the picture is complete in trainee students.

 

  1. Encouraging the students of the department to be creative and to harness the energies of young students and direct them towards materializing the lecture materials in panels and teaching aids in addition to illustrations, and this requires a lot of creative thinking and direct supervision from the faculty members.

 

  1. Assigning fourth-level students in the department to prepare applied research in the field of accounting and under the supervision of the faculty members in the department, where these researches are evaluated according to the form that has been prepared for this purpose, which includes the elements of scientific research in its details.

 

  1. Opening electronic educational channels for all academic subjects in line with the current situation that the department and the world are going through to confront the (COVID 19) epidemic, as well as electronic channels for educational guidance for students. In addition, the department is using the necessary means to protect students and teachers from the new Corona epidemic.

 

  1. The faculty members in the department present seminars, whether electronic or physical, on contemporary accounting topics, and invite the faculty members of other scientific departments in the college and the students of the department to attend these seminars to achieve the desired scientific benefit from them.

 

  1. 8 Holding scientific seminars for the department that discuss any new accounting problem in practice, and the aim of these seminars is to raise awareness of this problem and explain all its dimensions by hosting the parties concerned with the problem, especially from outside the university to benefit from their views and learn their opinions and dialogue with them in an attempt To reach alternative solutions to the problem, while inviting those concerned with the topic of the symposium to attend it for the purpose of benefiting and enriching the symposium with interventions and discussions.

 

  1. Working to implement the department’s scientific plan in its entirety, including research, writing books, discussion panels, and seminars, and encouraging the teaching staff to morally complete their research included in the framework of the annual plan concerned, and creating a spirit of joint cooperation and scientific excellence among them.

 

 

 

Fourth: The Visions Of The Accounting Department

The family of the Accounting Department looks to the future with great optimism, and hopes that the number of students registered in the department will increase, and thus the number of graduates from it. More in the quality of graduates, which the department hopes to achieve if the appropriate conditions and requirements are available. Perhaps the most important of which is embodied in the department’s future visions in the following aspects:

 

  1. Preparing the necessary requirements to prepare for the next year in which the department adopts blended education and according to the Ministry’s directives in this regard, as it has prepared a future vision for the academic subjects covered by blended education.

 

  1. The scientific department seeks with all its human and material efforts, which culminated in the approval of the department council and the college council, to achieve the department’s plan to introduce a master’s program in accounting sciences.

 

  1. There is a possibility for the department to prepare studies on opening one of the following postgraduate programs (diplomas): Auditing diploma, accounting diploma, when the department has human and material capabilities.

 

  1. The department expects great success for graduate programs, especially certificates (diplomas), and the department will follow up on the adoption of one of the following proposals (audit diploma, accounting diploma) in the coming years.

 

  1. Intensifying efforts towards Internet uses within the department at the appropriate speed, whether for research uses by faculty members or students or for teaching some subjects in English, especially since today’s world lives in the era of electronic commerce.

 

  1. In line with the ministry’s directives regarding the adoption of e-learning in the coming school years, and given the accompanying difficulties in adapting this modern experience, the department has developed a future plan to complete the training of all students and even teachers to interact with this experience in terms of preparing lectures in various formats and how Receiving lectures, answering questions, and shifting from a culture of classroom education to a culture of e-learning (distance).
